A favorite local restaurant since 2005, Grandale recently became part of its owners’ vision for a unique Northern Virginia destination: a restaurant specializing in fresh, local gourmet fare, within the 120 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds at the 868 Estate Vineyards.
Every item served on or off-site is prepared from scratch using the highest quality of available ingredients. Guests are encouraged to walk around the grounds and, in season, dine on the deck under large umbrellas.
The dining room is simple but elegant: wood tables dressed in white linen with classic white china. At one end of the dining room, guests can watch the chef through a large picture window into the kitchen. In winter, a crackling fire makes you want to linger a bit longer over one of our wonderful desserts or an after-dinner drink.
Chef Author Clark, one of the founding owners of Grandale Restaurant and an early innovator in farm-to-fork fare, continues as an integral part of the management team. Classically trained at the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Clark describes his offering as American Haute Cuisine. His skillful preparation makes freshness and quality the stars of the plate with seasonal menus to take full advantage of what’s available in our garden and from other local sources.
The restaurant features wine from 868 Estate Vineyards and other local vineyards, as well as thoughtfully chosen wine from other regions of the country and the world.
